Gymnazium AMAZON meets criteria of "toward a child-friendly school" (DPS). The system, which is supported by UNICEF foundation.

Schools should act in the best interests of the child. The learning environment must be safe and healthy. This must be complemented by experienced teachers and adequate resources. and appropriate physical, emotional, and social conditions for learning.

Children's rights must be protected, and their voices must be heard. Learning environments must enable kids to learn and grow with an innate respect for their identity and diverse needs. This model of teaching encourages inclusion, gender equality, tolerance, dignity and strengthens personality.

FOR CHILDREN FRIENDLY SCHOOLS

UNICCEF developed a network of schools based on: individual rights and educational systems and governed by the principle that they are friendly to children. The must characterize the safety, health and protection for their pupils. They must be effective for children and include family and society with children. (Shaeffer, 1999) Models by which the school is guided:

  • School is important for the student's personal and social development. Teachers are one of the most important elements in creating a friendly, open, and communicative classes in which children in it together.
  • Children are by nature destined for the absorption of new knowledge and develop their potential accordingly. However, this ability can sometimes be suppressed and destroyed.
  • Child-friendly schools recognize the potential of the child and help him or her develop it, provide school morale, teaching approach and content of the curriculum, establishing a training camp, learning and pupil.
  • To be called "child-friendly", the school should be associated with the support and cooperation of participating with the child's family. These schools aim to develop a learning environment in which children are motivated and able to learn.
  • Teachers are friendly and kind towards children and contribute to the safety and needs of the children.

RIGHTS OF CHILDREN IN CHILD FRIENDLY SCHOOLS

  • It's about the search for a school for the children. It's about treating them as individuals with rights and duty-bearers in order to fulfill the rights of all children in the community.

  • It provides a healthy and safe learning environment, with adequate water supplies and sanitation facilities and classrooms, non-threatening political processes (e.g., drug-free schools, corporal punishment, and harassment), and the provision of health services, such as nutritional supplementation and counseling.
    It provides life skills based on a sound education.
  • Supports both physical and psycho-socio-emotional health of teachers and students.
    It helps defend and protect all children from abuse and hurting.
    Provides children with a positive experience.

Gender sensitivity

  • Promotes equality of women and men at enrollment.
